Hello! My name is Yami. This is my first review, as well as my first time listening to the artist "ayaka." I will be keeping track of my reactions to her songs, and will then grade the album as a whole and decide whether or not I like her music and wish to continue following her.
This is ayaka's debut album.Start to 0 (Love): My first reaction to this song was that it sounds like a pretty average pop song. But as I listen, it's actually become more catchy. I can easily see myself listening to this song again. The ending was a bit sudden, as well. My grade: 3/5 stars.
Real voice: I think the piano and guitar in this song is beautiful, and that her voice in this song sounds great. I like it more than "Start to 0 (Love)." I give it 4/5 stars.
Sha la la: This woman really does have a voice, doesn't she? I think this song is very cute and I like the instruments used. I also give this song 4/5 stars.
Blue Days: At the beginning, this guitar reminds me of some of the relaxing music I especially like hearing in the afternoon. This is a really nice song. Very relaxing, but a kind of sudden end. Anyways, I still give it 4/5 stars.
I believe: The piano in this song is beautiful. At first the song sounded like any regular song, similar to other songs I've heard before, but it improved as it went on. It's a very pretty song. I give it 5/5 stars.
Stay with me: The song starts off pretty up-beat and poppy, giving a nice variety on the album. But despite the nice vocals, it sounds like your average pop song. Still, it's nice. I love the piano. 3/5 stars.
melody: This song is... different, but pretty. At times it gets a little average, but the chorus fixes it up. I also enjoy the beat in this song. For some reason, it stands out more than the beats of her other songs, and it makes me like this particular song even more. I give it 5/5 stars.
Kimi no Power to Otona no Furi: At first, the piano sounded wonderful, but within seconds I found it annoying. It reminds me of the piano of a country song, and I don't like country. Even though it tones down when she starts singing, it's still there loud enough for me to hear. The song isn't terrible, but it's definitely not one I would ever go out of my way to listen to. In fact, I don't really want to hear it again at all. I give it 2/5 stars.
Eien no Monogatari: This is a very pretty interlude song. The guitar is beautiful, as are the vocals. Even though it's repetitive, I love it. 5/5 stars.
Toki wo Modoshite: It starts out as this strange jazz-pop mixture, but it isn't very annoying. It's actually kind of catchy. I like it. I give it 5/5 stars.
1-2-3-4: This song kind of sounds like some of her others and doesn't stand out very well at first, but it's actually pretty cute, and I like it. I give it 4/5 stars.
Story: At first, I thought the song was a little too plain for me, but it got catchy. Again, it's cute. I give it 5/5 stars.
Rairarai: At first this song was really annoying to me, but it's grown a bit on me. Still, I will give it 3/5 stars.
Mikadzuki: This ballad is very beautiful, plain and simple as that. It seems like she has this guitar in every song, but the piano and violin were beautiful enough on their own, too. I love it. I give it 5/5 stars.
message: I found all of the background noises and stuff unnecessary. I don't really like effects like that because I think it takes away from hearing her voice. Other than that, this track was just a "message" I guess. I kind of don't see the point. 2/5 stars.
Overall: I liked this album and I will definitely be following ayaka. I look forward to listening to her next album and reviewing any future releases beyond that! I'll give this album 4/5 stars.
Voice: She is very talented. Her voice isn't too deep, nor too high and squeaky. It also sounds very unique and stands out from other singer's voices that I've heard before.
Art: I don't really care for the album cover that much. It's not terrible, but it cold have been better.
Variety: It sounded like a common theme in this album was her guitar and her drum beats. I liked them, and it made all the songs sound related in a family way, but sometimes it got a little old. However, there was a nice variety of song types. Ballad, pop, peppy, you name it. I enjoyed it!
